Job Description

A part-time teaching opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing serving elementary students (Kindergarten through 5th grade) in a school located near Chandler, AZ. This role involves supporting one school within the district with specialized instruction tailored to students with hearing impairments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering individualized educational programming for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to meet student needs
  • Implementing strategies and assistive technology that enhance auditory access and language development
  • Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Participating in virtual team meetings and professional development sessions

Qualifications:

  • Valid Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDDHH) certification is required
  • IVP fingerprint clearance must be current and on file
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in an educational setting
  • Ability to work independently as this position will initially require commitment of one day per month, with potential to increase based on enrollment

This is a contract position running from late July 2026 through late May 2027. The school district provides supervision and support through paraprofessionals or other qualified personnel.
