Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working with children and adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Familiarity with a variety of communication methods, including sign language, oral methods, and assistive technology
  • Strong skills in developing and modifying Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities with students, families, and school teams

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction tailored to the individual needs of students with hearing loss
  • Partner with general education staff and related service providers to ensure student inclusion and progress
  • Provide guidance and resources to maximize access to curriculum and instructional materials
  • Monitor, assess, and report on student learning and IEP goals
  • Support families by sharing progress and facilitating communication between home and school
  • Maintain accurate records and remain compliant with special education policies and procedures
