Job Description

This full-time, contract opportunity gives you the chance to impact a diverse caseload of K-12 learners, working alongside dedicated professionals in a collaborative school environment. Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Tennessee Department of Education certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing required
  • Previous experience teaching or consulting with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (K-12 preferred)
  • Solid understanding of consultative models and specialized educational strategies
  • Flexibility in adapting to varying caseloads, including Pre-KElementary hubs and a newly opening Middle School hub
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities with staff, students, and families
  • Successful completion of Tennessee fingerprint and background check (district policies apply)
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive and accessible learning environments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consultative and direct services for DHH students as determined by current needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, SLPs, and support staff to develop and implement IEPs
  • Support students across multiple school sites with a focus on educational access and self-advocacy skills
  • Assist in transitioning Middle School hub program for the new school year
  • Maintain accurate documentation and timely reports in compliance with district and state guidelines
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and stay informed about best practices in deaf education

This is a Monday through Friday, onsite position following the school district calendar, from August 2026 to May 2027.
