This full-time, contract opportunity gives you the chance to impact a diverse caseload of K-12 learners, working alongside dedicated professionals in a collaborative school environment. Your expertise will help empower students to thrive academically and socially.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Tennessee Department of Education certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing required
- Previous experience teaching or consulting with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (K-12 preferred)
- Solid understanding of consultative models and specialized educational strategies
- Flexibility in adapting to varying caseloads, including Pre-KElementary hubs and a newly opening Middle School hub
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities with staff, students, and families
- Successful completion of Tennessee fingerprint and background check (district policies apply)
- Commitment to fostering inclusive and accessible learning environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver consultative and direct services for DHH students as determined by current needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, SLPs, and support staff to develop and implement IEPs
- Support students across multiple school sites with a focus on educational access and self-advocacy skills
- Assist in transitioning Middle School hub program for the new school year
- Maintain accurate documentation and timely reports in compliance with district and state guidelines
- Engage in ongoing professional development and stay informed about best practices in deaf education
This is a Monday through Friday, onsite position following the school district calendar, from August 2026 to May 2027.
