Job Description

An opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing to support students in a school environment located in Burlington, VT. This contract position focuses on delivering specialized instruction and services to students with hearing impairments, ensuring access to the general curriculum and fostering communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Use specialized teaching methods and assistive technologies to support student learning and communication
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, speech-language pathologists, and families to promote student success
  • Conduct assessments and monitor student progress, adjusting instructional strategies accordingly
  • Provide consultation and training to school staff regarding accommodations and strategies for students with hearing loss
