About the Opportunity
Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a skilled and passionate Teacher of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing (DHH) for a summer assignment in Boston, MA from July through August 2026. This short-term opportunity is ideal for an educator who is dedicated to supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing in maintaining and strengthening their academic and communication skills during the summer months.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Support communication development using American Sign Language (ASL), spoken language, or total communication approaches as appropriate
- Adapt instructional materials to meet individual student needs
- Collaborate with related service providers, support staff, and families
- Implement IEP goals and maintain student progress documentation
- Foster an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment during the summer session
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
- Active Massachusetts licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf & Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with DHH students preferred
- Proficiency in ASL or other communication modalities preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and instructional skills
