Job Description
This position involves providing specialized educational support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, facilitating their academic and social development within a school environment.
Location: Bloomingdale, GA (Travel assignment)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and families to support student learning
- Use specialized techniques and technology to enhance communication and accessibility
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Provide direct instruction in language, literacy, and communication skills tailored to student needs
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement or specialization in deaf/hard of hearing education
- Experience working with students who have hearing impairments in an educational setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Knowledge of assistive listening devices and related technologies
- Ability to create inclusive and supportive learning environments
