Make a difference in the lives of students by supporting their unique learning needs as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This rewarding contract opportunity is available full-time for the 2026-2027 school year in the Binghamton, NY area. Youll bring your expertise and compassion to foster positive educational outcomes for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an onsite setting.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (TDHH)
• Demonstrated experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
• Knowledge of assistive technologies, language development, and differentiated instruction
• Commitment to individualized support and fostering inclusive environments

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, adapting methods as needed for student success
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with related service providers and classroom teachers
• Employ visual techniques, American Sign Language (ASL), or other communication strategies best suited to each student
• Engage families in the educational process, offering regular updates and guidance
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best educational pathways for students
• Document progress and maintain detailed records in accordance with school and state requirements
