Job Description

A K-12 position is open for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing serving Carbon and Lehigh Counties in Pennsylvania. This contract role aligns with the school calendar, running approximately from ASAP through June 12, 2026, with a 35-hour workweek.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement educational programs tailored for deaf and hard of hearing students.
  • Create a supportive and effective classroom environment focused on special education needs.
  • Manage all aspects of deaf/hard of hearing programming within school districts in the region.
  • Collaborate with school personnel and families to support student success.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Certification in Special Education with a Hearing Impaired endorsementproof of licensure is required.
  • Demonstrated experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Ability to design and execute individualized instructional plans.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with current special education laws and best practices.

Location:

  • Position services Carbon and Lehigh Counties, Pennsylvania. Candidates should be prepared to commute within this area.
