A rewarding opportunity is available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing students within a school setting in Berlin, CT. This contract position offers the chance to make a significant impact by supporting students with hearing impairments in their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt classroom materials accordingly.
- Collaborate with teachers, audiologists, speech therapists, and families to promote student success.
- Utilize various communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), lip reading, and assistive technologies.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and recommendations for further support.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working with students who have hearing impairments in an educational environment.
- Strong knowledge of deaf education methodologies and current best practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and educational teams.
- Patience, adaptability, and a passion for fostering inclusive learning environments.
