Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a vibrant educational community. In this onsite role, you will make a meaningful difference each day, working with learners from kindergarten through 12th grade. Youll collaborate closely with staff and families to provide specialized instruction and advocacy designed to foster communication, academic growth, and confidence for students with hearing differences.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid NE DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching license
  • Experience working with K-12 students as a DHH teacher highly preferred
  • Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and inclusive practices
  • Excellent communication skills with students, colleagues, and families
  • Ability to adapt instructional strategies to diverse learning needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging, individualized lessons that address each students unique needs
  • Support language development and accessibility, utilizing appropriate communication methods (spoken language, sign language, etc.)
  • Monitor progress, maintain detailed records, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to promote an inclusive environment
  • Serve as an advocate and educational resource for students and their families
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and empowering classroom atmosphere

This full-time position (37.5 hours per week) follows the traditional school calendar, starting August 13, 2026, and concluding May 27, 2027.
