Job Description

Empower young learners by bringing your expertise to a vibrant educational setting as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This full-time contract opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact working within supportive teams and engaging classrooms. Youll support students across K-5, focusing on two self-contained environments: a K-2 classroom (6:1:2) and a 3-5 classroom (8:1:2). Here, your skills will help children thrive both academically and socially.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid credentials as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
  • Experience working directly with students with hearing impairments, preferably in a classroom setting
  • Strong understanding of educational strategies for deaf/hard of hearing learners
  • Ability to collaborate with other educators, therapists, and families
  • Proficiency with assistive technology and auditory access tools
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction and support to K-5 students in self-contained classroom settings
  • Develop, implement, and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) that address specific student needs
  • Foster an inclusive and accessible learning environment
  • Work closely with classroom aides and related service providers to ensure a cohesive team approach
  • Maintain records, track progress, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for support
