Inspire and empower students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a supportive school environment near Avondale Estates, GA. Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or Special Education (or eligibility for certification)
- Strong understanding of various communication modes, including ASL, cued speech, and oral approaches
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, preferably in a school setting
- Ability to assess, adapt, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent collaboration, organizational, and communication skills
- Passion for supporting student achievement and building self-confidence
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver individualized instruction that accommodates each students preferred communication method and learning style
- Develop and manage IEPs in partnership with related service providers, families, and educators
- Foster a safe and nurturing environment that encourages social and academic growth
- Utilize current technology and visual aids to supplement learning and ensure accessibility
- Provide guidance and resources to classroom teachers and staff, enhancing overall inclusion and awareness
- Participate in school meetings, training, and professional development sessions
