As a teacher working with a caseload of 5 students, youll create engaging lesson plans, foster communication skills, and help each child reach their full potential. Youll enjoy the rewards of individualized attention as you guide students through their academic and social development.
Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois licensure as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Experience or strong interest in working within a school setting
- Solid understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations
- Team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills
- Dedication to providing inclusive, student-focused instruction
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored instructional strategies for students with hearing differences
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to support student goals
- Conduct assessments and document student progress
- Facilitate access to curriculum through assistive technology or interpreters, as appropriate
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment
- Maintain compliance with state and federal education regulations
