This opportunity involves working onsite as an itinerant educator, providing specialized support to students across a middle school and two elementary schools near Aurora, IL. Qualifications & Requirements:
- Possession of an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement
- Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is highly valued
- Itinerant teaching background strongly preferred
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and services to deaf and hard-of-hearing students in multiple school settings
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct and consultative services to ensure access to the curriculum and promote academic and social-emotional growth
- Maintain documentation and progress monitoring according to state and district guidelines
- Promote self-advocacy and independence among students
