Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid state certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience delivering instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in school settings
- Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant communication modalities
- Ability to adapt educational content and resources for children with diverse hearing needs
- Comfortable working with students across various grade levels
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and individualize lesson plans to meet each students unique needs and Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals
- Deliver direct instruction in various subjects, providing academic support and specialized strategies
- Implement accommodations and modifications to maximize student access to the curriculum
- Consult and collaborate with general education teachers, special educators, and related service providers
- Assist with assessments and monitoring of students progress, providing regular updates to parents and educational team members
- Advocate for students inclusion and participation in extracurricular and classroom activities
- Provide resources and guidance for families to support student engagement and progress
