Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid state licensure/certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Background in deaf education, hearing loss, or communication sciences
• Proficiency with developing and delivering Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Comfortable utilizing a variety of communication modalities, such as American Sign Language (ASL), spoken English, and assistive technology
• Experience collaborating with general education teachers and multidisciplinary teams
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple student needs
• Compassion, patience, and the ability to foster positive relationships with students and families

Responsibilities & Daily Duties:

• Provide direct and indirect instructional support to students with hearing impairments in individual, small group, or classroom settings
• Assess student skills and progress, tailoring instruction to unique communication and educational needs
• Consult with classroom teachers to adapt curricula, classroom environments, and instructional materials
• Facilitate the use and maintenance of hearing assistive technology
• Support and train staff and families on strategies and resources for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and ongoing progress monitoring
• Stay current with best practices and educational methodologies in deaf education
