Job Description

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (state requirements must be met)
  • Previous experience working with children who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of auditory/oral methods
  • Ability to develop and adapt lesson plans to accommodate individual learning needs
  • Strong organizational, communication, and advocacy skills

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging instruction tailored to the unique needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to support inclusion and access
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
