Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (state or national credentials)
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a K-12 school setting
  • Proficiency with American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities
  • Ability to assess and adapt materials for individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable with technology and assistive listening devices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized instructional plans for students with hearing loss
  • Conduct assessments and track progress toward IEP goals
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to provide accommodations and modifications
  • Engage with families and other support staff to facilitate student success
  • Offer consultation and support regarding assistive technologies and classroom adaptations
  • Participate in IEP meetings and professional development activities
