Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities
- Experience adapting curriculum and instructional strategies for diverse learners
- Strong collaborative skills to work alongside general education staff, families, and support professionals
- Dedication to fostering self-advocacy and independence for students
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students with hearing loss
- Assess student needs and monitor progress using targeted assessments and data tracking
- Collaborate with IEP teams to develop and implement goals, supports, and accommodations
- Consult with classroom teachers to create accessible, engaging classroom environments
- Offer guidance and resources to educators and families, promoting student success both in and out of the classroom
- Support students with self-advocacy, communication, and social-emotional growth
