Desired Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
• Experience working with students across various age groups
• Strong understanding of auditory/oral, total communication, and sign language modalities
• Ability to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Adaptable and creative approach to teaching methods and materials
• Strong organizational skills and a commitment to positive student outcomes

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in individual and group settings
• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to each students unique needs
• Assess student progress and regularly update IEP goals
• Consult with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere
• Advocate for accessibility and ensure appropriate accommodations are in place
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and services
• Attend meetings and participate in professional development as required
