Desired Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with students across various age groups
- Strong understanding of auditory/oral, total communication, and sign language modalities
- Ability to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Adaptable and creative approach to teaching methods and materials
- Strong organizational skills and a commitment to positive student outcomes
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in individual and group settings
- Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to each students unique needs
- Assess student progress and regularly update IEP goals
- Consult with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote a positive, inclusive learning atmosphere
- Advocate for accessibility and ensure appropriate accommodations are in place
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to student progress and services
- Attend meetings and participate in professional development as required
