Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
• Bachelors degree or higher in Deaf Education or a related field
• Demonstrated experience delivering instruction to deaf or hard of hearing students
• Strong knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, therapists, families, and school staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with hearing loss, adapting curriculum to meet diverse needs
• Facilitate communication access and support, using ASL, spoken language, or other appropriate methods
• Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor student progress toward goals
• Consult with classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to establish inclusive, supportive learning environments
• Offer recommendations for assistive technology and classroom accommodations
• Engage in ongoing professional development and keep current with best practices in Deaf Education
