Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Bachelors degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field (Masters preferred)
- Skilled in using assistive hearing technology and various modes of communication, including ASL and oral approaches
- Previous experience working in a school environment with deaf or hard-of-hearing students
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with an ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Up-to-date knowledge of best practices in instruction and accommodation for students with hearing impairments
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students unique needs
- Adapt general education curriculum and teaching methods to address communication differences and maximize student participation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to develop and implement IEP goals
- Provide ongoing support, resources, and advocacy for students and their families
- Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and communication
