Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Experience working in a school environment or with children and adolescents
- Strong knowledge of assistive technologies, communication modes, and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Understanding of best practices for language development and auditory training
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving classroom and student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized instruction for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Assess student abilities, monitor progress, and adapt lesson plans to support diverse learning styles
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other professionals
- Provide guidance and support to students and their families regarding communication strategies and hearing technologies
- Assist with IEP development, implementation, and documentation
- Advocate for student inclusion and accessibility within the school community
