Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience with a variety of communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL), oral/auditory strategies, and assistive technologies
- Strong commitment to inclusive education and student advocacy
- Familiarity with IEP processes and compliance
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Previous experience in school settings preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver tailored lesson plans for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Support language development, literacy, and core academic skills
- Facilitate communication and access across all classroom activities
- Manage and monitor student progress, conduct assessments, and update IEPs as needed
- Serve as a resource for fellow educators regarding Deaf/Hard of Hearing accommodations
- Partner with families to provide guidance on strategies and resources
- Stay current with best practices in Deaf education
