Your strong communication skills and expertise with DHH students will empower you to foster an inclusive learning environment. You'll collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to tailor educational strategies, ensuring effective access to learning and personal growth for every student.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience teaching students with hearing impairments in K-12 settings
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods
- Ability to adapt lesson plans based on student needs
- Strong teamwork, organization, and flexibility
- Enthusiasm for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, adapting materials and strategies to individual needs
- Conduct assessments and develop IEP goals in alignment with student abilities and requirements
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to ensure full integration in school activities
- Support students social, emotional, and academic development
- Educate and provide resources to families about student progress and tools for success
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
- Utilize and troubleshoot assistive technology as needed
