Job Description

This role offers a unique opportunity to bring specialized instructional expertise to support students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an educational setting in Atlanta, GA. Serving as a dedicated instructor, you will create an inclusive learning environment that fosters communication, language development, and academic achievement for students with hearing differences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored instruction aligned with individual education plans (IEPs) for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Utilize specialized teaching methods and assistive technology to enhance learning and communication
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and classroom teachers
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies to meet diverse learning needs
  • Provide guidance and resources to families and caregivers to support students development outside the classroom

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure in Teaching Students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, or related educational credentials
  • Experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing populations in school settings
  • Strong knowledge of deaf education strategies, auditory-verbal therapy, and assistive listening devices
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work empathetically with students, families, and colleagues
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive educational environment
