Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Strong understanding of various communication modalities (including ASL, oral/aural, and total communication approaches)
- Experience developing and adapting individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, support staff, and families
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Passion for advocacy and the advancement of accessible education
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in classroom or resource settings
- Adapt curriculum and classroom materials to meet a range of communication and learning styles
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to foster growth
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate in creating individualized plans
- Consult and provide guidance to mainstream teachers regarding accommodations, modifications, and accessibility
- Facilitate communication with families and promote engagement in the educational process
