Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities
• Experience working with children and adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and families
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom culture
• Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative instructional services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Assess student needs and track progress, adjusting strategies as appropriate
• Develop and implement IEPs in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
• Offer resources and support to classroom teachers, enhancing accessibility within the general education setting
• Facilitate communication among students, staff, and families
• Advocate for students needs, helping them build independence and self-advocacy skills
• Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school events as needed
