Key Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various grade levels
  • Strong understanding of assistive technology, auditory/oral skills, sign language modalities, and IEP processes
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and other professionals
  • Demonstrated adaptability for individualized and small group instruction

What You'll Do:

  • Provide direct and consultative educational support to DHH students in various educational settings
  • Adapt instruction and materials to accommodate learning differences
  • Collaborate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Guide general education staff in strategies, accommodations, and modifications for DHH learners
  • Maintain ongoing communication with families to foster student progress and advocate for accessibility needs
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust strategies as needed
