Job Description

Make a difference supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a dynamic PreK-6th grade setting. This contract opportunity is available for the upcoming school year, offering the chance to work on-site with a dedicated team serving a single campus known for its supportive community and innovation. Flexible weekly hours (21-35 per week, minimum three days) allow work-life balance while making a real impact.

Candidates for this role will use their expertise to complete evaluations, attend ARD meetings, interpret audiograms, and manage a meaningful caseload of young learners. Your leadership and technical skills will foster accessible learning environments for students with hearing challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Current Texas DHH Teaching License (TEA)
  • Direct experience in a Texas school is strongly preferred
  • Skills in reading and interpreting audiograms
  • Ability to complete and document student evaluations
  • Confidence participating in ARDs and collaborating in team settings
  • Passion for working with PreK-6th grade students
  • Commitment to on-site service delivery; remote options are not available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support a dedicated RDSPD campus, working with students from PreK through 6th grade
  • Conduct necessary assessments and contribute to the development of IEPs
  • Attend and participate in ARDs as a key advocate for your students
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, specialists, and families to maximize student potential
  • Provide individualized instruction to meet diverse needs in an inclusive environment
