Job Description

A full-time or part-time opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing serving students from kindergarten through 12th grade in Fort Worth, TX. This contract-based role focuses on delivering specialized educational support to students with hearing impairments, fostering their academic growth and social development.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Provide direct instruction and support in both classroom and resource settings.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, speech therapists, and other professionals to ensure an inclusive learning environment.
  • Utilize assistive technology and communication strategies to enhance student learning.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices in deaf education.

Qualifications:

  • Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Strong knowledge of communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL) and auditory-oral methods.
  • Ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Location: Fort Worth, TX
