This full-time position seeks a skilled ASL Teacher or Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing who is passionate about supporting high school students both in language development and across core subject areas.
Youll play a vital role in fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment, making each day meaningful for your students and their educational journey.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education, or related endorsements.
- Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Previous experience supporting high school students, especially those with diverse communication needs.
- Strong understanding of instructional strategies for Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners.
- Passion for empowering students and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide ASL instruction and support across core academic subjects for high school students.
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to address individual learning styles and needs.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) as appropriate.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and collaborate with fellow educators, families, and support staff.
- Foster an accessible, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
