Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing on a full-time, contract basis in the northern suburbs of Nashville. This position offers the chance to work with a diverse K-12 student population, helping shape successful academic journeys while collaborating with dedicated educational teams.

Youll play a vital consultative role, ensuring each student receives the personalized support they need. Assignments are flexible and may include hubs for Pre-K through elementary, with a new middle school hub launching for the upcoming school year.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Tennessee Department of Education certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing services
  • Current, or ability to obtain, Tennessee state fingerprint clearance
  • Experience supporting K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Strong communication and consultative skills, with a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to adapt to different campus assignments as needs arise

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative support to students with hearing impairments across multiple schools as assigned
  • Collaborate with general and special education staff to facilitate IEP goals
  • Offer expert guidance on accommodations and classroom strategies, ensuring accessibility
  • Document progress, adjust support strategies, and communicate effectively with families
  • Stay current with best practices in Deaf Education and promote an inclusive educational environment
