Job Description

Make an impact as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing supporting students in the Nashville areas northern suburbs! This full-time, contract opportunity offers you the chance to work onsite in a dynamic district with established DHH hubs serving Pre-K through Elementaryand an exciting new Middle School hub on the horizon for the upcoming year.

Enjoy a varied caseload covering K-12 students, tailored by assignment and changing with district needs. Your expertise will be key in delivering primarily consultative services to help students access their education fully and thrive academically and socially. Youll work during the school calendar year, Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours weekly.

Qualifications:

  • Valid TN Department of Education Certification
  • Experience teaching or consulting for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (K-12 preferred)
  • Recent fingerprint clearance, or willingness to comply with new district fingerprinting procedures
  • Strong communication skills, collaborating effectively with teachers, families, and diverse student populations
  • Flexibility to adapt to varying caseloads and school locations within the district

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct and consultative support for DHH students across different grade levels
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, IEP teams, and district staff
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans and recommend accommodations
  • Offer consultative guidance and resources to staff and families
  • Participate in assessment, progress monitoring, and documentation
