Job Description

A supportive school district in Zachary, LA, is looking for a passionate Special Education Teacher to support elementary students for the upcoming school year running September through June.

Position Responsibilities

Provide instruction and behavioral guidance for an elementary classroom (ages 610) tailored for students with Autism.

Manage behavior intervention plans alongside a supportive team including district BCBAs, Paras, and RBTs.

Design and implement IEP goals, track individual developmental progress, and run daily classroom routines.

Build positive relationships with families, administrators, and multidisciplinary support staff.

Required Qualifications

Active Louisiana Special Education Teaching Certification.

Demonstrated experience handling complex behavioral needs (including physical behaviors and sensory regulation).

Strong knowledge of IEP writing and special education compliance.
