Job Description

Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students with diverse learning needs in Siskiyou County, CA. A full-time contract position is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher able to inspire and uplift students in a collaborative school environment.

This role involves working a standard 37.5-hour week, providing tailored instruction and care to a caseload of 28 or fewer students. The population served presents with mild to moderate needs, allowing you to utilize your expertise in individualized education plan (IEP) development, differentiated instructional strategies, and ongoing student assessment. While the position is primarily on-site, there may be potential flexibility for virtual/remote (VOCO) work, depending on candidate preference and district needs.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching Credential (California or eligibility for credential)
  • Proven experience working with mild/moderate caseloads in school settings
  • Strong knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and compliance
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with general educators, families, and support staff
  • Ability to adapt instruction to meet varied learning needs and styles
  • Comfort with both in-person and virtual teaching platforms preferred

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Deliver engaging, data-driven instruction for students with mild/moderate disabilities
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and parents to support student growth
  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Participate in professional development and school meetings as needed
