Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Special Education Endorsement (required)
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field
- Minimum of two years experience teaching in a Special Education classroom
- Substitutes will not be considered all applicants must hold appropriate licensure
- Strong communication skills, flexibility, and a commitment to student-centered teaching practices
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each students strengths and needs
- Adapt lessons and instructional strategies to ensure accessibility and alignment with curriculum standards
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff
- Maintain positive, productive relationships with students, families, and support teams
- Utilize data and assessments to monitor and report on student progress regularly
- Support classroom management and promote a safe, inclusive learning environment
