Step into a meaningful role supporting middle school students as a Special Education Teacher in an emotional support classroom. This contract opportunity, located conveniently near York, PA, offers the chance to make a direct impact on the lives of 7th and 8th graders, fostering growth in both academic and emotional development.

As an educator in this setting, you will manage a manageable caseload of 13 students, working Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 3:10pm. Bring your expertise and passion for special education to a dynamic and supportive environment designed to help students thrive.

Qualifications:

• Current PA teaching certification and Special Education (SE) credentials (required)
• Previous experience working with middle school-aged students preferred
• Strong background supporting students in an emotional support classroom a plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to adapt and differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student on your caseload
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to address academic and emotional goals
• Collaborate closely with other teachers, counselors, and support staff to foster an inclusive learning environment
• Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
• Actively participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development opportunities
• Nurture a classroom culture based on empathy, respect, and consistency
