Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher supporting students in an Alternative Learning Unit classroom for grades K-2 on a contract basis. Qualifications and Requirements:

• Active Texas Special Education Teacher Certification is required
• Previous experience working with students in special education settings preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
• Ability to effectively manage behavior and support students academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth
• Strong collaboration skills for working with fellow educators, aides, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and adapt lessons to meet the varied needs of K-2 students in the Alternative Learning Unit
• Maintain and update IEPs, documenting progress and collaborating during meetings to ensure student needs are met
• Create a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
• Employ evidence-based interventions and proactive behavior management strategies
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
• Work onsite 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
