Job Description

A Special Education Teacher position is available for a school located in Wyoming, MI. This is a contract role providing support to early childhood through kindergarten students with cognitive impairments. The assignment includes two contract periods: May 18th through June and August through October, with work hours from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Key responsibilities include managing a caseload of early childhood and kindergarten students, updating and initiating Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), attending meetings, and case managing alongside serving as the lead teacher. This role requires a professional who can effectively balance instructional duties with comprehensive case management to ensure students receive appropriate educational support.

Qualifications:

  • Current certification in Cognitive Impairments required
  • Experience working with early childhood and kindergarten age groups preferred
  • Ability to update and maintain IEPs accurately
  • Strong organizational skills to manage caseload and meeting schedules
