Job Description

Key Qualifications:

  • Active GA Special Education (SPED) teaching license (specific endorsements to be confirmed)
  • Experience working with middle school-aged students, preferably those with behavioral challenges
  • Strong understanding of de-escalation strategies and behavior intervention plans
  • Willingness to work in-person; this position is not available as a virtual assignment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a classroom para as part of a student support team
  • Comfortable providing compassionate, consistent support for students with aggressive behaviors

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a 1:1 Special Education Teacher for a student requiring intensive behavioral support in a middle school setting
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior plans
  • Utilize evidence-based methods to create a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals and other faculty to ensure optimal student outcomes
  • Maintain clear communication with parents, guardians, and district partners

Additional Details:

  • Full-time schedule at 30 hours per week on-site at one middle school location
  • Travel professionals are encouraged to apply
  • Panel interviews are conducted remotely, with quick decision-making (typically within 24-48 hours)
