Step into a rewarding contract position supporting 2nd and 3rd grade students with developmental delays or intellectual impairments at a respected school near Worcester, MA. This full-time, onsite opportunity spans from 8:00AM to 2:30PM, starting as soon as possible and continuing through June 25, 2026. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a vital role in fostering growth, independence, and academic achievement for students requiring specialized instruction.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Massachusetts teaching license/certification in Special Education for Moderate or Severe disabilities
- Prior school-based Special Education teaching experience
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with developmental delays or intellectual impairments
- Ability to complete a CORI background check and fingerprinting (or use a current letter of suitability)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with families, staff, and specialists
- Comfortable participating in a Zoom interview
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction to meet diverse learner needs
- Develop and implement IEP goals, accommodations, and modifications for assigned students
- Assess student progress and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and related service providers
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for success
- Adhere to all ethical and professional standards for special education practice
