Job Description

Step into a dynamic educational environment as a Special Education Teacher on a full-time contract basis, supporting students in a variety of settings for the remainder of this academic year through June 5, 2026. With multiple roles available, you'll make a difference in the lives of students across elementary and middle school levels, working alongside dedicated staff and instructional assistants in onsite-only roles.

Openings include:

  • Elementary Developmental: 15 students, 6 assistants; focus on behavioral, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and communication needs (2 positions)
  • Elementary Behavior: Grades 3-5, 16 students, 5 assistants
  • Middle School Resource: 40 students, 2 shared assistants
  • Elementary Resource: 2 sites, 2 miles apart, 35 students, 1 assistant at each building
  • Middle School Behavior: 15 students, 5 assistants

Key Qualifications:

  • Current, active Special Education certification/license in Oregon
  • Able to provide contact details for your most recent supervisory reference
  • Demonstrated expertise in supporting students with diverse learning or behavioral needs (behavioral, ASD, and communication challenges)
  • Strong collaboration skills for working in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Adaptability in both classroom and resource settings
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

Role Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Deliver engaging instruction tailored to each students abilities and goals
  • Collaborate with instructional assistants, colleagues, and families to optimize student success
  • Monitor student progress and adjust strategies as needed
  • Contribute actively to IEP meetings and multidisciplinary staff collaboration
