Job Description

Start making an impact in the lives of students as a Special Education Teacher in a dynamic and supportive school environment. Several immediate openings are available for dedicated educators who are driven to foster growth, inclusion, and success for students with diverse needs. The positions are full-time, onsite, and run through June 5, 2026, offering opportunities across both elementary and middle school levels.

Ideal candidates will bring expertise, compassion, and a collaborative spirit to the following specialized classrooms:

  • Elementary Developmental (2 positions): Classes serve up to 15 students supported by 6 assistants, focusing on behavioral, ASD, and communication needs.
  • Elementary Behavior (Grades 3-5): Work with 16 students and 5 assistants in an environment supporting positive behavior interventions.
  • Middle School Resource: Guide and support 40 students with the help of two shared assistants.
  • Elementary Resource (two nearby schools): Serve a total of 35 students, supported by one assistant at each site.
  • Middle School Behavior: Engage with 15 students alongside a team of 5 assistants.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education certification/license in Oregon is required
  • Recent supervisor reference contact information (for consideration)
  • Previous experience or strong interest in working with students with ASD, behavioral, and communication needs is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and adapt individualized education programs (IEPs)
  • Foster inclusive and positive classroom environments
  • Collaborate closely with assistants, specialists, and families
  • Track and report on student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations
