Job Description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity providing vital support to young learners with special needs. This position is based in a school environment with a focus on adaptive curriculum instruction for children ages 3 to 5. You'll play an essential role in shaping early educational experiences and fostering growth in a supportive classroom setting. The assignment spans from as soon as possible through June 4th, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications:

• Valid special education teaching license for the state of Virginia
• Endorsement and experience with adaptive curriculum for ages 3-5
• Comprehensive understanding of early childhood development and individualized instruction
• Commitment to adhering to onsite-only requirements
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, adapted lessons tailored to the unique abilities and needs of preschool-aged children
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and district requirements
• Collaborate with classroom staff, therapists, and administrators to support inclusive educational practices
• Cultivate a safe, structured, and welcoming classroom to promote student learning and participation
• Establish ongoing communication with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and classroom events
• Maintain detailed records, documentation, and ongoing assessments to ensure student growth and compliance
