Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students with Autism by lending your expertise as an Autism Specialist within a highly supportive educational network. This full-time, contract position serves K-12 schools across Southern Oregon within a 35-mile radius of Medfordincluding communities from Ashland up to Eagle Point and Grants Pass. The need is immediate for two dynamic professionals who are excited to blend specialized skills with passion and empathy.
Preferred candidates bring a Masters degree in Special Education, are credentialed SLPs, School Psychologists with a TSPC license, or BCBAs (with targeted Autism experience). Board-certified SLPs and applicants with deep understanding across the Autism spectrumincluding both high-functioning and significantly impacted, non-speaking studentsare enthusiastically encouraged to apply. This is an onsite-only opportunity where your vital presence will directly shape student progress and district outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of dedicated experience working with students on the Autism spectrum across diverse grade and age levels
- Hands-on expertise conducting Autism evaluations and interpreting their impact
- State of Oregon licensure/certification as appropriate (TSPC, SLP, BCBA, etc.)
- In-depth insight into both inclusive/general education and self-contained environments
- Solid grounding in public education and Special Education practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert consultation and direct support for K-12 staff and students
- Perform comprehensive Autism assessments and interpret results
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to tailor interventions
- Guide classroom strategies for all levels, from general ed to highly specialized settings
- Support ongoing professional development around Autism best practices
