Make a meaningful impact each day by supporting students of varying abilities in an engaging resource teaching environment. We are seeking four dedicated Exceptional Children (EC) teachers for onsite roles in a warm, collaborative school community near Whitakers, NC. This contract opportunity spans from July 27, 2026, through July 2, 2027, and offers a 35-hour workweek, ideal for those inspired to guide and enrich learners at the elementary, middle, or high school level.
As an EC teacher in this dynamic setting, you will:
Qualifications:
- Hold valid North Carolina EC (Exceptional Children) teaching credentials
- Bring previous experience or strong interest in special education, preferably within resource teaching roles
- Exhibit exceptional communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Show flexibility and compassion in responding to diverse student needs
- Demonstrate a commitment to fostering inclusivity and student growth
Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted, individualized instruction within EC resource settings at the designated grade level (2 positions elementary, 1 middle, 1 high)
- Develop and implement IEPs while maintaining compliance with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success
- Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies to meet evolving learning goals
- Foster a welcoming, supportive classroom atmosphere promoting confidence and independence
