Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching license for Alabama (verify here: https://tcert.alsde.edu/Portal/Public/Pages/SearchCerts.aspx)
- Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher, particularly in elementary education, is highly valued
- Strong classroom management skills and a student-focused approach
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom culture and effectively serve diverse learning needs
- Adaptability and willingness to teach in inclusion, self-contained, or behavior unit settings
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students unique needs
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Utilize evidence-based strategies and differentiated instruction
- Monitor progress and adjust strategies for optimal learning outcomes
- Document student achievements and maintain accurate records in accordance with regulations
- Create an engaging, safe environment conducive to growth, participation, and positive behavior
