Qualifications:

  • Active Michigan Special Education teaching license with CI (Cognitive Impairment) or ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) endorsement required
  • Experience working with students in specialized settings such as ASD/CI or resource rooms strongly preferred
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills for working closely with school staff, students, and families
  • Commitment to individualized student planning and adaptive instruction
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to document and monitor student progress

Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement differentiated lessons tailored to unique learning needs in assigned classrooms
  • Use diverse instructional strategies to support IEP goals and student progress
  • Coordinate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver comprehensive services
  • Maintain accurate records and required documentation
  • Communicate regularly with families and the school team regarding student progress and needs
  • Foster inclusive, encouraging classroom environments
