A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available in West Sacramento, CA, offering a contract position within a dynamic school environment. This role focuses on delivering individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet state guidelines and student goals
- Provide direct instruction and intervention to students with disabilities, adapting teaching methods to accommodate various learning styles
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, therapists, counselors, and families to support student progress
- Monitor academic performance and behavior, maintaining accurate records and reporting on student growth
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to ongoing professional development
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Special Education teaching credential appropriate for the state of California
- Experience working with students with a range of disabilities in a K-12 setting
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and instructional strategies
- Ability to create positive, supportive classroom environments that promote inclusion and engagement
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with students, families, and school staff
