Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in grades 3-5 within a Social Emotional Behavioral Classroom. This position, based near West Hartford, CT, runs from ASAP through June 13, 2026, with a follow-up assignment September 1, 2026, through October 15, 2026. You'll be working full-time, Monday to Friday, from 8:20 am to 3:40 pm, at a single school known for its commitment to student growth and positive behavioral support.
Your expertise in special education is vital as you cultivate an encouraging learning environment where diverse learners thrive socially and academically. The role focuses on reinforcing essential social and emotional skills while delivering differentiated instruction customized to each student's unique needs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Connecticut Special Education (CT SPED) license required
- Previous experience with social-emotional and behavioral challenges strongly preferred
- Familiarity with IEP process and implementation
- Strong communication and collaborative skills to coordinate with general educators and families
- Genuine passion for supporting students academic and social-emotional development
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to address individual IEP goals
- Facilitate a positive, structured classroom environment
- Deliver targeted interventions for students with behavioral and social-emotional needs
