Make a meaningful impact in the lives of preschoolers as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis. This opportunity is situated near West Hartford, CT, and offers a chance to support both general education and special education students in an inclusive preschool setting. You'll work approximately 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday, providing vital instruction and guidance to a diverse caseload.
Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut certification in Preschool Special Education (CT preschool sped certified)
- Prior experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Familiarity with inclusive classrooms and a range of learning styles
- Ability to foster a supportive and engaging classroom environment
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to both special education and general education preschoolers needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to support student success academically, socially, and emotionally
- Collect data and maintain records to monitor student progress and inform instruction
- Collaborate regularly with classroom staff, therapists, and administrators to create an inclusive, nurturing learning environment
- Communicate with families to share student progress and support involvement in their childs education
